At Braincreators, we believe great technology starts with great people who bring clarity, curiosity, and purpose to every challenge. This week in our Superheroes series, we’re proud to introduce Camiel, the Product Manager of Seagull Surveillance.
Camiel was born and raised in Amsterdam and carries that Dutch spirit of openness and collaboration into everything he does. “What I love most about the Netherlands is the flat culture,” he says. “You can talk to anyone, challenge ideas, and build things together without titles getting in the way.”
When he’s not shaping the future of AI-powered maritime monitoring, you’ll find him out on the Dutch waters, sailing through canals or lakes.
As Product Manager, Camiel thrives on bringing people and ideas together. “I love being part of a team where curiosity and collaboration drive everything,” he explains. “It’s inspiring to dive deep into new technologies and customer challenges, and to see the real-world impact of what we build.”
His unique superpower? Turning chaos into clarity. “Creating structure, aligning teams, and learning fast keep me at my best,” he says.
Camiel’s philosophy ties it together: “Technology only matters if it creates real impact, helps people, organizations, or communities move forward meaningfully.”
The best advice he ever received came from his parents: Try things before deciding they’re not for you, and do what you enjoy. It’s a mindset he carries forward, and one he encourages in others: “Stay curious, try new things, and take the time to find your own ‘why.’”
When asked which role he’d love to try for a day, Camiel chose Willem-Jan Veen, our CTO. “I’d love to see the bigger picture of our technology landscape and explore how all the products connect,” he says.
